A day with Nash

I spent all day on Monday with my
3 year old nephew NASH
We had lots of fun. We went to McDonald's where he ate
1 chicken nugget and 4 fries
(guess who ate the rest of his food- me)
then to my house and then to the playground and
then to Stacy's house for a playdate with Bryce.
And then I took him home and stayed with him until
his mom came home from the late shift at work.
I was pretty exhausted when I got home, I definitely
have a new appreciation for all you stay at home moms.
But being an aunt is great !!
As soon as we got to my house he found my nail file
and kicked off his shoes to file his toe nails

I made him file my toes

This is a picture that Nash took of me haha

Playing with Lola, he loves Lolola

Swinging so high

Climbing up to the slide,
what a big boy he is.

"Hi aunt Lillie"

Fun times on the slide

Playing with Bryce's toys

Swimming in the kiddy pool

Making big splashes

Filling up the pool- cold water burrr

Having so much fun

Getting squirted with the hose

Busy Weekend

I was a busy little bee this weekend.
I canned fresh Georgia peaches

I canned some salsa

I made a wreath for my friend Stacy
who just bought a new house.
-before-

-after-

I thought it turned out so cute,
I might just keep it for myself.
Doesn't it look good on my door??

And I made matching scraves for the dogs
Gosh now I need a nap !!

Dog Booties

Lexie is always so itchy in the summer.
I guess its the grass and bugs.
I was getting so annoyed by her constant scratching
so I made her some booties with a pair of
my socks and rubber bands.
She didn't like it but it worked...for a while!

She was thrilled!!

Oh Deer...

Wouldn't it be great if these beautiful daylilies
bloomed all across the side of my house?
Well they used to do just that until. . .
the stupid deer found them and ate them.
So sad looking. Just green leaves left.
I decided not to take this sitting down.
Well I was kind of sitting
(warning this is a gross story)

I researched what I could do to get rid of the deer problem.
The smell of humans scare them so I decided to
pee into a cup and then sprinkle it
all around my flowers.
And so far it has worked.
They have left the two blooms alone.
But every time it rains I have to
do my tinkle sprinkle all over again
in order to save my poor flowers!!

Blueberries

I went out to Washington Farms the other
day to pick blueberries.
There weren't a lot that were ripe so it took me
an hour to fill up my bucket.
I brought them home to make Blueberry pie filling.
Mixing, mixing, mixing

Filling up the jars

First full jar, looks so pretty

All that work and I only got 5 jars,
but it tastes so good

Cheesy face and look how flush my cheeks are
from stiring over the boiling pot for 15 mins straight

With the left over blueberries I made some
gluten free Sunday blueberry pancakes.
Yummy
