My 2012 Garden

This is my garden I planted for this year.

There are two different kinds of tomatoes,

cucumbers and zucchini

Can't wait until I am able to reap my reward!!

There's nothing better then fresh veggies

Notice there is no fence up around it this year.

Luckily the dogs haven't bothered it yet.

Lexie's eye

(warning these pics are nasty)

Lexie had the grossest eye infection 

a few weeks ago. It was very sad and

she looked so pitiful.  It actually started out

as an itchy face and I guess moved up

into her eye.  It took us two trips

to the vet & three different medications

to get it cleared up.  She also had to wear

a cone to keep her from scratching her eye and

face making it raw and bloody.

I'm happy to report we made it through and

she is all better.

Thank goodness!!

Birthday Bunco

It was my turn to host Bunco again.  I chose

May because it is the month of my birthday.

I thought it would be a great excuse to

celebrate! (& help me forget how old

I was turning) So I decided to have a 

"make your own pizza party"

This is a picture of the drawer in my fridge full 

of pizza dough balls.

Dough full of sauce

Lots of cheese and pepperoni

Baked up and oh so yummy!

Some slices with the other toppings.

I had ham, pineapple, peppers, onions, 

spinach, sun dried tomatoes, 

mushrooms and lots of 

cheese available for the pizza making.

Spinach salad with strawberries, feta,

candied almonds and avocados

I also made carmel corn 

for our mid-game snack

I decorated the tables with table cloths 

and happy birthday confetti

I hung up a birthday sign and balloons

My friend Stacy made this cute and yummy

birthday cake, so we had cake & ice cream

for dessert!

It ended up being a great and fun night &

worth all the hard work getting it ready.

Can't wait for next year

Happy Birthday??

Did I have a happy birthday?  Not so much

I turned 35 on May 1st

It was a really hard and emotional day for me

I was hit by a ton of bricks that my life 

has not turned out how I thought it would 

and that I'm not where I thought

I'd be at this age

I got these flowers from my parents &

I got several phone calls and texts

from my good friends which

helped me feel better and know

that I am loved.  

Life is hard and even though I

hate the saying "life is what 

happens when you're making plans"

it is so true.  I just have to remember that

there is some kind of plan for me,

I just have to be patient.

Thanks to my awesome friends and family

for loving me!!

And here's hoping for a better B-day next year

Why do I put up with it???

These rotten dogs of mine got a hold 

of my brand new Ensign and ripped

it all up before I even got to read it.

Whats worse is the amazing greeting I

received when I got home.  They were so

excited to see me jumping and wagging

their tags so hard.  I felt so loved!

But as I came around the corner into the 

living room, I found out they were

just covering up how naughty they had been.

Easter Egg Hunt

My ward was doing an Easter egg hunt, so

I invited Nash. He was super excited

especially about getting candy!

They divided the kids into age groups.

Nash never made it over to his age group,

he was so distracted. He got stuck with the

nursery kids. I was worried that he

would take all the eggs before the little

kids got to them, but he was just running around

in circles so excited and never looked down

on the ground where there were a ton of eggs.

It was so funny.

He finally looked down after

we kept yelling at him!

Spring Sewing

I feel like the sun here on the east coast

is really strong. I have had to change the

fabric on my outdoor furniture every year.

I used to buy really nice expensive fabric,

but have learned the expensive stuff fades just

as fast as the cheap stuff does.
